Who we are
Lodeworks Digital (ABN 93 155 008 010) is a web development, app development and consulting business based in Ballarat, Victoria. This policy covers information collected through lodeworksdigital.com.au and through email or phone contact with the business. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
If you use the enquiry form or email us, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, phone number if you include it, and the details of your enquiry. The website also collects standard analytics information through Google Analytics, such as pages visited, approximate location at a city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Our hosting provider also keeps routine server logs, including IP addresses, for security purposes.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used to respond to you, scope and deliver work you ask for, and keep normal business records such as quotes and invoices. Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not sell personal information, share it with marketers, or send marketing emails you have not asked for.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, which sets cookies to distinguish visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally with cookies disabled.
Services we rely on
Like most modern websites, this one is built on a small number of third-party services, and some information passes through them. The website is hosted by Netlify, which processes form submissions and server logs. Email is provided by Google Workspace, so anything you send us is stored on Google's servers. Analytics is provided by Google Analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests files from Google's servers when the site loads. These providers store data on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States, and each operates under its own privacy policy.
Storage and security
Form submissions are held in Netlify's dashboard and forwarded to our email. Business correspondence and records are kept in Google Workspace, protected by access controls including two-factor authentication. We keep enquiry and project records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal obligations such as tax record keeping, then delete them.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@lodeworksdigital.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally a few business days. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will do our best to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Significant changes will be noted plainly rather than buried.
